Couragene believes that delivery of gene and biologic therapies should be safer and more efficient. Delivery of genome modification therapies to brain is further complicated by the physiological barriers. Couragene's STEP (Stimuli-responsive Traceless Engineering Platform) technology has demonstrated great potential to overcome the delivery hurdles for treatment of various diseases, including neurogenetic disorders.
We are seeking a Protein Scientist to join our passionate startup team.
Title: Scientist
Location: North Brunswick, NJ
Key responsibilities:
- Development, optimization, and implementation of recombinant protein expression, and purification protocols.
- Development of high throughput expression screening strategies
- Application of analytic techniques to characterize and assess the protein products
- Independent literature research, planning and execution of experiments, evaluation, and documentation of results
- Maintenance of laboratory equipment involved in protein expression, purification, and characterization
Qualifications:
- Strong background in molecular and cell biology with a focus on recombinant protein expression and purification
- Experience with purification of difficult-to-express proteins in various expression systems
- Experience with FPLC systems (preferred)
- PhD degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields
- Open minded, excellent communication skills, reliable, team player
- Demonstrated ability to work with highly skilled teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and technical environment
